Effect of Dietary Lecithin Supplementation on Improvement Semen Quality, Reproductive Performance Plasma Biochemical Traits and Antioxidant Changes in Rabbit Bucks

چکیده
Lipids are the main structural/functional components of the sperm, and their composition may undergo a series of modifications in relation to either physiologic events and/or diet. The effect of lecithin supplementation on reproductive and reproductive performance were studied in rabbits bucks. Twenty eight adult V line rabbits (at age between 7-8 months) were divided into four equal groups. The first was the control group, where the second, third and fourth groups were given 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5% soybean lecithin (SL) in their diet for 12 weeks period. Results revealed better improved sexual activity and higher libido of SL treated bucks. Bucks receiving 0.5, 1.0 or 1.5% dietary SL had a higher semen volume, mass motility and sperm count. Dietary SL reduced the percentage of dead sperm and abnormal sperm. Significant increase in blood testosterone level was observed. Seminal total lipids concentration and the activities of different seminal plasma enzymes were significantly enhanced. Interestingly, SL reduced seminal plasma lipid peroxidation as indicated by thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances (TBARS) while increased both the blood and seminal plasma antioxidant enzymes and this was accompanied with improved reproductive traits of lecithin supplementedgroups. In conclusion soybean lecithin supplementation at 1% may be used for improving semen quality, antioxidant status and reproductive traits of rabbit bucks. The Effect of Dietary Organic Selenium and Folic Acid Supplementation on Productive and Reproductive Performance of Male Rabbits under Heat Stress Conditions
The objective of this work was to study the effects of organic selenium and folic acid supplementation on productive performance and reproductive performance of rabbit bucks exposed to hot condition during summer condition. Twenty-eight male V-line rabbits 7-8 months old with average initial body weight of 3.4090.05 kg were randomly divided into four groups of 7 bucks each. Group 1 served as c...
متن کاملSemen Characteristics and Oxidative/Antioxidati in Semen and Serum of Male Rabbits Supplemented with Antioxidants during Heat Stress
Heat stress (HS) often blamed for suboptimal reproductive efficiency and is a worldwide problem, which inflicts heavy economic losses reflected in limiting the breeding season of rabbits to be normally from September to May in northern hemisphere and subtropical regions. The present experiment was conducted to study the effect of summer heat stress and the alleviating effect of some antioxidant...
متن کاملInfluence of dietary zinc on semen traits and seminal plasma antioxidant enzymes and trace minerals of beetal bucks.
Zinc (Zn) is a potent antioxidant and plays a key role in scavenging free radicals. We hypothesized that supplementation of Zn would reduce the oxidative damage, which is linked with poor sperm quality. Sixteen bucks of similar average age (2 years) and body weight (41 kg) were randomly divided into four groups viz., 1, 2, 3 and 4 supplemented with zinc sulphate into the diet at the rate of 0, ...
متن کاملSome Productive, Reproductive and Physiological Effects of Using Different Dietary Protein Levels in Rabbit Does
Three groups of 11 New Zealand White (NZW) rabbit does, each were reared from 12 weeks of age on iso-energetic diets containing 16, 14 or 12% crude protein (CP) were used to study influences on productive performance, digestibility, some carcass traits, haematological, biochemical and hormonal parameters of rabbit does. The results showed rabbits fed on 16% protein diet had heavier body weights...
